Plastic
Injection Mold Applications
KIC
Sintered Vents with very fine pores have been used
successfully in venting system for plastic injection mold applications.
Sintered vents with pore diameters of 0.03mm allow the passage of trapped
air or gases within the mold, but still block the passage of the
molten plastic. Using KIC Sintered Vents, you are able to create shorter
shot-cycles and increases productivity.
Sintered vents with pore diameters ranging between 0.03mm – 0.1mm have
even been used successfully as a venting system in blow molding
for plastic containers to shorten the shot-cycles and reduce defects.
Some
applications for KIC Sintered Vents with injection molds include housings
for telephones, keyboards, calculators, monitors, containers, dashboards,
television housings, stereo equipment, aircraft consoles, and much
more.
