Gravity
and Low Pressure Die-Casting or Vacuum Casting
KIC
Sintered Vents are inserted into molding dies to assure sound castings.
They allow the escape of gas and prevent the passage of casting
material.
KIC
Sintered Vents with a pore diameter of 0.4mm for
larger, low-pressure gravity die-cast parts and 0.5mm diameter for
smaller parts. For Low pressure die-cast or vacuum casting parts,
pore diameters with a range between 0.4mm - 0.3mm work best and
are commonly used for venting systems in permanent mold casting
of aluminum alloys.
With a perforation volumes of 5-30 times higher than conventional
vents, these small vents can do a big job when it comes to
reducing the number of bad or defective products relating directly
to the casting process. Productivity is also improved as KIC Vents are fast and easy
to replace, making easy cleaning of the mold dies to speed up production.
The use of KIC Sintered Vents helps to assure quality castings, which
will be free from defects associated with trapped air or gases in
the mold, creating "mis-runs" and "cold shuts."
Some applications for KIC Sintered Vents in die-casting include major
auto-makers, for their water pumps, manifolds, carburetors, oil
pumps, starter clutches, alternator housings, door locks, wheels
(rims), and more.
